New Skill Gaming Policy Does Not Affect the ASD Raffle System

There's been many questions lately about the new rules announced by Linden Lab regarding Skill Gaming.

The ASD Raffle System is not affected by these new rules as the raffle relies entirely on chance -and- is not paid for a chance to enter.

From the Skill Gaming page on the Second Life Wiki:
Quote:

“Skill Game” or “Skill Gaming” shall mean a game, implemented through an Inworld object: 1) whose outcome is determined by skill and is not contingent, in whole or in material part, upon chance...

Things that rely on chance are still governed by the original rules on gambling in SL and the raffle remains legal since you do not need to pay for a chance to win.

This is taken from the Wagering page on the Second Life Wiki:
Quote:
If entry is truly "free" (as with a promotional sweepstakes), and the game's operator requires no "consideration" or payment from other players or entrants, then that activity will likely be permitted, assuming compliance with all other applicable laws...

So nothing has changed for the raffle regarding these new rules. Hope that helps sort things out.
