Thor feels more like a movie that has to be good rather than just being a good movie. With The Avengers movie looming in the near future Marvel Studios is doing its damnedest to do everything right. Thor is certainly not as enjoyable as films like Iron Man, but it could have been worse in my opinion. This wasn't going to be an easy adaptation from comic book to big screen and I think in that respect they pulled it off well. The Norse God of Thunder that wields a big hammer could have ended up looking stupid, but it surprisingly didn't. Well, not as stupid as I was expecting.

Movie Review: Battle: Los Angeles
If only there could be an alien invasion movie with writing as good as the visual effects. This looks great, as long as you can't hear anything anyone is saying. I liked that it was all from the military's POV, but not enough happened, it was dull and the film definitely did not earn its hero's ending.

Movie Review: The Green Hornet
I think I liked this more than Kickass, even though it wasn't as good... I'm guessing I just really like Seth Rogan and will enjoy anything he's in. ANYTHING! Even Observe and Report. What's that, he's an alien that eats birds? Sign me up! I love you like I did Adam Sandler before he stopped being funny.

Movie Review: Love and Other Drugs
I liked the drug rep storyline, and wish the movie was more about that and less about the love story. The actors did a good job and the writing wasn't bad either. For some reason I didn't enjoy the film overall though. It tries to be too many things at once and fails in them all.

Movie Review: Skyline
I wanted to like this movie, but despite the creative concept and the superb visuals, the terrible script and casting choices destroyed this movie. I expect alien invasion movies to be cheesy of course, but the writing was childish and pathetic. Some of the cinematography and special effects were top notch though.

Movie Review: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I
This was my least liked of the film series. I did enjoy the first third of the film. But the rest felt too much like a Twilight movie. Two guys and a girl in the woods, with a tent, and jealousy between them. The forest scenes even had a blue tint reminiscent of the Twilight films. I'm sure it was only following the original story, but I found this one boring and lackluster.

Movie Review: The Switch
I enjoyed the performances, especially by Jason Bateman and the kid in the film, but this movie pretty much sucked otherwise. The funniest part of the entire film to me was Jeff Goldblum sitting back in one scene. Just him, leaning back in his chair, was the highlight of this film.

Movie Review: The Other Guys
The message of the film is good (enforcing financial system abuses) and the film has some really funny jokes/performances. The way the scenes unfold feels as if we're being punk'd or played with by the filmmakers like a bad Andy Kaufman skit. The reality of this film has trouble finding it's footing in my opinion. The first 15 minutes are hilarious though.

Movie Review: The Last Airbender
It could be worse, he could have done 'Lady in the Water 2'. This movie was stunning, beautiful, but so very very dull. Like watching paint dry, very pretty paint. I think Shyamalan is an amazing director but he's a shitty writer. Focus on the visuals and leave the words to the wordsmiths my friend.

Movie Review: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
These films feel more like a fleshed-out self indulgent yearbook signing than a piece of art. Everyone gets to see their fictional friends in the flesh and gossip about that scene in the tent til the next movie comes out. It was nice to see Edward smile this time though.
