Emma Stone does an amazing job of making this film watchable. She will be a huge star for her efforts no doubt. On its own the film is insulting and un-funny. Nothing is fleshed out or deserving of the topics it covers. Amanda Bynes character's story has no conclusion and the main story has no point. Ultimately this film never gets anywhere or accomplishes anything, including making me laugh.

Under the B-Movie shell of this film was a strange story full of metaphors for human behavior that I found fascinating. Topics covered like childhood, parenthood, sexuality, marriage, infidelity, incest, rape, & our inability to escape our instincts. Splice may be too weird for most folks (like everyone in my theater) but I liked it, despite it's cheese.
